So I’m hiking, and leaves and gravel are crunching under my feet, when an eye-height spot of yellow catches my attention, and I get An Earth Day Inspiration...
One blogger who is a master at threading their theme through each post is my friend and writer Sara Wilson Etienne, who blogs about things in her life in a way that always brings it back to the process of writing. Check out how her insights and humor are anchored to her theme, which lets her blog posts dance!
Happy Earth Day, and like me, I hope you get inspired by Nature.
Namaste, and keep it Zen,
Lee

Thanks for this dancing reminder, Lee. Even on a blog that has an overall theme, I find myself having to make sure I "thread" everything together.
ReplyDeleteLee - great connection! And I love the video footage. The dancing leaf is memorable. ALEXIS
ReplyDeleteHi Lee,
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog but have read your tips around SCBWI and the blogosphere. This is a wonderful Earth Day blog, especially the leaf-on-a-thread. I blogged twice about Earth Day, because I think it's fine to include what moves us as humans and writers. It floats my leaf, I guess. Happy day to you. Pat/Tricia
Great post, Lee. I like to be a spider myself and put a good thread through it. Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Lee. I found myself wanting to share more details about my personal life with my blog readers so they could get to know me a bit better but couldn't figure out how to do it without making the blog posts really random. I decided to call the posts "When I'm Not Reading . . . " and then share those things I'm doing when I'm not reading. They are now some of my most popular posts and they still fit into the theme of the blog.
ReplyDeleteLove it! This is a great reminder to stay focused on what I really want to say & do with my blog. I've gotten carried away with poetry month- writing poems about anything I can think of - Earth Day included. Thanks for the lovely reminder!
ReplyDeleteI love the video! Such a perfect visual tie-in to the idea that all posts must connect to the main purpose and through line. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lee. Great tip! And I love the dancing leaf.

Love the video and the metaphor about making our blogs dance. And as for Sara, she rocks!
ReplyDeleteWhere was this hike? Lovely spot. And - you're so right - it's all about the thread.
ReplyDeleteWonderful analogy, beautiful image. And I agree--Sara's blog is an excellent example of always keeping that thread clear (is that a pun? I think so) as her blog dances.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind comments (oh, and I the hike was in the Santa Monica Mountains.)
ReplyDeleteNamaste,
Lee
Lee, You are brilliant. Loved the video and the concept. Thanks!
